Arrival Day!
I Did It!
I officially made it to YWAM Kona! My dreams became a reality when I arrived here late last night. I have met so many cool people already and God has pushed me out of my comfort zone and given me the boldness to walk up to people and start conversations. I am so thankful for all the friends I have already made and all of my super cool roommates!
Orientation
It is now the next day (Sept. 30) and today is all about orientation and a welcome to the island.
We started off by having everyone on campus meet at the flag plaza and we all walked to the Ohana Court for a traditional welcome. There, we were welcomed to the island by the native people and in return, each school gifted the islanders items from our home nations that will be distributed throughout the locals. This ceremony was so amazing to observe and getting to hear about the island’s history and what God has done here on the islands is incredible.
After the ceremony I went to my school’s tent/classroom and got to meet my school! Everyone here is so on fire for Jesus and we all have burning hearts for the nations. It is so incredible being surrounded by so many people living full heartedly for Jesus.
We continued our day with small groups in our dorm and everyone shared their incredible testimonies and we each got to pray over one another.
Finishing this amazing day, we had “Aloha Night” in the Ohana Court. This was a really cool time where we got to watch some incredible dancers and there was even a man eating fire! We got to hear a message from a leader here at YWAM, and ended the day with some worship!
Praise God for such an amazing day!
